Proofs give you an option to few your printed job before it actually goes to print. The proof is produced from the exact file that will go to the press to be printed.

The starting point of every job is a proof, and you will be presented with a proof for your approval before we print your job. You should ALWAYS check your proof for errors in the images, text, phone numbers and any other element in your print job.

When we send you a proof the time should be taken to make sure everything is the way you like. Proofing is a means of communication between you and Ipswich Printree using the actual artwork, your print job.


What to do when Ipswich Printree sends you a proof:

Check the appearance

Make sure the text is spelt correctly, all type is there, and set out the way you desire

Check to see that the PHONE NUMBERS and ABN numbers are also correct

If there is printing on the revers, check that also for text and numbers

Dedicate the time, ask for opinions about positions of text and imagery

If there is anything that you would like changed for any reason mark clearly on the proof itself and return with the proof confirmation form.

If you do not approve of the proof for any reason (e.g. you decided to change the size of the brochure, there is a spelling mistake, the cover is the wrong shade of navy blue, the company logo is too small, etc.), then you may advise us of any corrections or alterations BEFORE your job is printed (for a small charge) – you will then receive a second proof to check and approve, or submit a new file.

You will then receive a second proof to check and approve, it will NOT be printed until we have authorisation to print.

Sign the proof and fax or email it back to the fax or email address that is displayed on the proof confirmation form.

We will do a final check just before printing your job. If we see an error (even if you have approved your proof), then we will not print the job we will contact you immediately for guidance.

Ipswich Printree will not be responsible for any mistakes, errors or emmissions and cannot be held responsible. It is your responsibility to make sure everything is correct. We would never print a job where a proof has been signed off and where we spotted what we believe may be a mistake for the purpose of perhaps being paid a second time for a second run.


More about proofs
You can choose to have a PDF proof emailed to you, or you can have a hard copy sent to your door. PDF proofs will get to you faster, usually within 24 hours of submitting your job. They are cheaper because we don't have to mail them, but they are not as reliable as a hard copy proof.

It is much easier and more accurate to check printed copy that copy on screen, so you can and should print out your PDF proof rather than check it on the screen. However your colour printer and our press may and probably will print colours differently, so you can't depend on your colour print of our PDF proof as a 100% accurate representation of the colours that will result when we print your job.

Hard copy proofs are copies that are close of that to your final print job, it may not be on the stock that you requested. However, if you have ordered 500 copies of a 48 page saddle stitched book, then your proof will be a saddle stitched 48 page book.
